"During 1979 JOHNNY THUNDERS and family had relocated to Dexter, Michigan and had seen Johnny playing live shows with ex-MC5 guiturist Wayne Kramer, Ron Cooke and John Morgan as GANGWAR.
By the end of 1980 Johnny and Walter headed off on tour billed as THE HEARTBREAKERS amidst one of the coldest winters the Mid-West had endured in most folks lifetime. The dynamic duo were aided and abetted on this jaunt by 'Big Tony' Coiro on Bass and Billy Rodgers on Drums. The previous dates had been in Chicago, Schaumberg & at popular haunt Larry's Hideaway in Toronto then Hamilton, London in Ontario before driving over the Peace Bridge into Detroit to play the legendary Bookies Club where previously that year Iggy Pop had played a week run. There were two shows at the Silverbird, this one recorded by Bobby Belfiore as he felt the performances were exceptional compared to a handful of lacklustre performances months previously. The band were clean, and this culminated in a stunning high-octane Detroit rock 'n' roll show."
